A link can carry a parameter such as a set, a collection, an edition or a category. Showing it here is not the same as filtering this page: unless a matching record exists here, nothing is selected and nothing is filtered.

Everything we explain in one place

How the sets are made, how the editions differ, how a club runs a night, and what the grain record actually records. Written to be read before you spend money rather than after.

The four things people ask first

Each of these has a full page behind it. These are the short answers.

01

Which set should I buy

Getting started

Three tiers, one design language. The wood you pick matters more than the box it arrives in.

  • Paper, Collector and Heirloom carry the same tiles
  • Only Heirloom is numbered and registered
  • Wood is chosen separately from tier
02

Which edition is mine

Getting started

US and Chinese editions carry different tile counts, and accessories are sized to the edition.

  • US edition runs 160 / 165 / 165
  • Chinese edition runs 144 / 160 / 160
  • Accessories follow the edition
03

How the wood is made

Material & process

An engineered wood-grain body, finished per tile, judged in four stages before it becomes a set.

  • Engineered for humidity and temperature
  • Finished per tile, not by batch
  • Rejected at any of four stages
04

What is registered, and why

Ownership

Heirloom Sets carry a number and a tile-by-tile record. The Registry is what you do with it.

  • Numbered sets only
  • Record filed against the number
  • Transferable in writing

Questions

Common questions

Is the wood real wood

It is an engineered wood-grain material. It is chosen because natural wood moves with humidity and temperature, and a playing surface cannot.

Why are there two editions

The Chinese edition is a different game size, so it needs a different tile count. The material and the design language are identical.

Can I buy a single tile

No. Tiles are produced as sets and matched as sets. A single replacement tile is handled through warranty by number rather than sold.

Do you ship everywhere

Shipping coverage is confirmed when an order is placed. The studio does not publish a blanket list of countries here.

How do I look after the finish

Wipe with the grain using a damp, wrung-out cloth. No solvent cleaners, and keep the set out of long direct sun.
